Sean Charles Dunn, 37, was charged in a criminal complaint in U.S. District Court in connection with an assault on a U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer that included shouted verbal insults and a thrown wrapped Subway sandwich.
Dunn, who had worked at the Department of Justice, was fired by Attorney General Pam Bondi. He is charged with one felony count of assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers and employees of the United States.
If you touch any law enforcement officer, we will come after you, said Bondi. I just learned that this defendant worked at the Department of Justice NO LONGER. Not only is he FIRED, he has been charged with a felony. This is an example of the DEEP STATE we have been up against for seven months as we work to refocus DOJ. You will NOT work in this administration while disrespecting our government and law enforcement.
Let me be clear, if you lay a hand on a law enforcement officer, be certain we will come after you with the full weight of the law. Our officers have a job to do, and they should not be abused in the process, said U.S. Attorney Pirro. This alleged assault is no joke its a serious crime, and those who think otherwise will learn just how gravely mistaken they are.
Dunn allegedly approached one of the CPB officers, pointed his finger in the officers face, and shouted F--- you! You f---ing fascists! Why are you here? I dont want you in my city!
About 11:06 p.m., Dunn forcefully threw a sub-style sandwich at the CPB officer, striking him in the chest. An Instagram video recorded by an observer captured the incident.
Dunn attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended. While being processed, Dunn told an officer, I did it. I threw a sandwich.
