Maumee Mudmouth

Maumee Mudmouth

$20.00

The Maumee Mudmouth is said to lurk in the muddy shallows of the Maumee River, where the water runs brown and the bottom swallows boots whole.

According to local legend, the Mudmouth isn't dangerousjust curious. Fishermen claim it surfaces beside boats to inspect their catch, flashing its crooked grin before disappearing beneath the mud. Others swear they've heard strange laughing noises coming from sandbars on foggy mornings, only to find no one there.

The creature is rarely seen alone. Witnesses often report pairs of glowing eyes peeking from the mud nearby, leading many to believe entire colonies of Mudmouths live beneath the riverbed.

Though stories about the creature date back generations, no one has ever captured clear evidence. The Mudmouth seems to vanish the moment someone reaches for a camera, leaving behind only bubbles, muddy footprints, and the feeling that something was watching from below.

Locals have one rule:

If the river smiles at you, smile back and keep walking.
